SAAGA Health Privacy Policy

This policy covers the SAAGA app for individuals. It does not cover the SAAGA practitioner portal.

At Saaga Health, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your data when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, password, date of birth, and basic profile details such as height and weight.

Cycle and Symptom Data: Period and cycle dates, flow, symptoms and their severity, ovulation and pregnancy test results, birth control and hormonal supplementation, chronic conditions, health goals, and any notes you add.

Food, Movement and Sleep Data: Meals and their nutritional breakdown, workouts and activity, sleep and recovery, medications and supplements, and anything else you choose to track.

Lab and Biomarker Data: Lab and biomarker results you enter, and the reports and documents you upload to your saved files.

Connected Devices and Apps: If you connect a wearable or health app — such as Oura, Apple Health or Health Connect — we receive the daily metrics it makes available, such as sleep, readiness, activity and steps. You can disconnect it at any time.

Conversations with the App: Your messages to the SAAGA assistant, and any images or files you attach to them (for example a photograph of a meal, or a screenshot from another tracking app).

Practitioner Connection Data: If you connect with a practitioner, the messages, files, appointments, intake and check-in form responses, and the protocols exchanged through that connection.

Device & Usage Data: Device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, push notification tokens, and how you interact with the App.

Payment Information: Your subscription and purchase status. Card details are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe and are never stored by us.

2. How We Use Information

We only use your information to:

  • Provide the core functions of the App (tracking, predictions, insights, assistant).
  • Share what you have agreed to share with a practitioner you have connected with.
  • Personalize your experience and deliver meaningful health support.
  • Communicate with you about reminders, product updates, and support.
  • Send newsletters or marketing messages only if you have opted in.
  • Ensure security, prevent misuse, and comply with legal requirements.

We do not use your health data for targeted advertising or unrelated marketing.

3. Sharing Information

  • We will never sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your health data with advertisers or external marketers.

Information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Practitioners You Connect With: If you accept a connection with a practitioner, we share the information that connection covers — the areas they asked for, from the date they asked for, both shown to you before you accept. We share nothing with a practitioner you have not accepted, and you can end a connection at any time, after which their access to your record stops. Information already shared with them, and anything they recorded about your care, may remain part of their own professional records.
  • Service Providers: With trusted providers (such as cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and the AI services that generate insights and assistant replies) who are contractually bound to keep it confidential and use it only for our purposes.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
  • Research & Development: In aggregated or de-identified form that cannot reasonably identify you.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • All personal data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized Saaga Health personnel who need it to operate the service.
  • While no system is 100% secure, we take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data. You may:

  • Access, update, export, or delete your information at any time.
  • Opt out of receiving newsletters or marketing communications.
  • Delete your account, after which your personal data will be removed unless we are legally required to keep certain records.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Once your account is deleted, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for research and product development.

7. Data Breach Notification

If a breach involving your personal data occurs, we will notify you as required by law. Notices may be delivered by email, in-app message, or other reasonable means.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for individuals 18 years or older.

We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that information from a child has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

9. U.S. Use and California Rights

  • The App is designed for users in the United States.
  • We comply with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
  • California residents may request access, correction, or deletion of their data, and may request details on how their information is used.
  • Saaga Health does not sell personal information.

10. International Users

If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Data protection laws in these locations may differ from those in your country of residence.

11. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you in the App or by email.

Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
